Suspect arrested after foot chase

Officers from the Mt. Juliet Police Department and Wilson County Sheriff’s Department immediately responded to the area in an attempt to locate the fleeing suspect. A perimeter was established and the suspect was contained in a wooded area. Around 12:40 p.m., the suspect was spotted sitting on the front porch of a residence in the 3500 block of Old Lebanon Dirt Road. He was approached by officers and fled on foot a short distance until he was caught by Mt. Juliet Police officers.

West Wilson Middle School, Stoner Creek Elementary and Mt. Juliet Christian Academy were placed on lockdown has a precautionary measure and for the safety of the students. The lockdown lasted until approximately 12:45 p.m., when the suspect was arrested by Mt. Juliet Police.

Further investigation revealed that James allegedly stole a flatbed trailer from a residence on Saddle Trail Court in Hermitage. The trailer was recovered and returned to the victim. The additional two passengers in the vehicle have not been charged at this time.

Metro Nashville Police Department is investigating the theft that occurred in their jurisdiction.

James was arrested and booked in the Wilson County Jail on one count of driving on suspended (license), one count of possession of burglary tools and one count of evading (arrest).
