A woman fell victim to partners in crime who tag teamed to snatch her wallet and subsequently charge $1,500 on her credit card in Mt. Juliet.

Mt. Juliet Police report a man and woman worked together on a plot to distract the woman who was trying to load water into her shopping cart at the South Mt. Juliet Kroger on June 21.

According to MJPD Lt. Tyler Chandler, the alleged suspects believed to be responsible for the crime were caught on surveillance tape at the store.

"The investigation revealed a female victim was distracted by a man who assisted her with loading water into her shopping cart," Chandler said in a release. "During the distraction, it is believed that another suspect stole the victims wallet from her purse."

The suspects then went to Target down the road and charged $1,500 on her credit card.

Chandler said sometimes it takes a while to get the surveillance tape, but now they have it and detectives are asking anyone in the community if they have any information on the suspects shown on the tape they believe may be responsible for the crime.

Anyone with any information regarding this crime is encouraged to call the Mt. Juliet Police Department at (615) 754-2550. Information can also be given anonymously by calling (615) 754-TIPS (8477) or via the Mt. Juliet Police Department website at www.mjpd.org.
