Teacher suspended in alleged slapping incident at LHS

Wilson County Director of Schools Dr. Donna Wright acknowledged this week that a teacher had allegedly slapped a student at Lebanon High School for using profanity, but said she couldn't make any further comment.

She confirmed that the incident happened last week and that the teacher, whom she did not name, received a three-day suspension without pay.

"She's lawyered up and our lawyer (Mike Jennings) is trying to arrange a meeting," Wright said.

Details remain sketchy due to the pending investigation, but Wright added that she may have more information in a week or so.
