Special agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) on Tuesday arrested and charged a Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) trooper, who is accused of pointing a gun at his wife during a domestic dispute earlier this week.
At the request of 15th District Attorney General Tom Thompson, TBI Agents began investigating Shane Roberts, 43, of Lebanon, on Tuesday. During the course of the investigation, agents developed information that Roberts pointed a THP-issued firearm at his wife during a dispute at their Lebanon home on Monday.
Agents arrested Roberts Tuesday night and charged him with one count of aggravated assault. Authorities subsequently booked him into the Wilson County Jail on $5,000 bond.
