VOLLEYBALL -- WCHS 3, LHS 2
GLADEVILLE -- Ninth grader Nicole Brill rocketed 13 kills Thursday night to help lead Wilson Central to a tight 3-2 win over District 9-AAA rival Lebanon.
Game scores: 25-19; 23-25; 23-25; 25-16; 15-10.
Senior Delany McCorkle and Junior Hannah Potts each added seven kills for the Lady Wildcats.
Jasmine Fuqua paced Lebanon with Jasmine Fuqua 13 kills, seven digs and two blocks.
Maleigha Oldham added nine kills while setter Zia Hamilton passed out 16 assists with six digs.
Lily Balwin finished with 11 digs, Haylee Wilson had five kills while Sydney Becht chipped in with four kills and two blocks.

VOLLEYBALL -- MJ 3, Portland 2
PORTLAND -- Mt. Juliet improved to 10-1 overall and 2-0 in District 9-AAA following Thursday's 3-1 victory at Portland.
Game scores: 26-24, 19-25, 25-19 and 25-16.
Tavie Bell led with 14 kills and seven blocks, Amber Ehrhart finished with 23 assists while SaraGrace Willson had 11 assists and four aces.
The Lady Bears will return to action Monday, Aug. 29 at home against Beech.

SOCCER - MJ blanks Portland
PORTLAND -- Mt. Juliet didn't allow a shot on goal in Thursday's 2-0 road win at Portland.
Karah Sharp and Maddie Bohannon each scored goals at the Lady Bears moved to 4-0 on the season.
Assists came from Ally Cole and Summer Ellmore.

GOLF -- BA over Friendship
MT. JULIET -- Visiting Brentwood Academy scored a 161-191 nine-hole win over Friendship Christian School in Division II play Thursday at the Windtree Gold Course.
Hunter Bankston shot a 41 to lead the Commanders whole Jacob Chessor and Dylan McGregor each carded 49's.
Skylar Pirtle rounded out the foursome with a 52.
Brentwood Academy's Jackson Phillips was the low medalist with a 37.
