SOCCER -- MJHS improves to 2-0
MT. JULIET -- Six different players scored goals as Mt. Juliet's volleyball team thumped visiting West Creek 6-1 Thursday evening.
Goals came from: Brooklynn Butler, Ally Cole, Brittany Ellmore, Summer Ellmore, Marileigh Mabry and Karah Sharp.
The Lady Bears improved to 2-0 on the season headed into at Tuesday, Aug. 23 match at White House.

SOCCER -- WCHS 3, Forrest 3
CHAPEL HILL -- Wilson Central's soccer team battled to another draw Thursday in a 3-3 contest at Forrest High.
Down 2-1 at intermission, the Lady Wildcats (0-0-2) scored twice in the second half to earn the tie.
Forrest standout Brynn Colvin scored all three goals for the Lady Rockets.
"Colvin is a legitimate Division 1 soccer player," said Central coach Jeff Loucks. "She was very difficult to deal with."
With the score tied at 3-all, Wilson Central missed a penalty kick with five minutes remaining.
"We had to settle for another draw," Loucks said, "it's still better than losing."
Lexi Hardin, Emma Brewer and Quincy Heffington all notched goals for the Lady Wildcats with an assist from Courtney Wall on Heffington's goal.
Keeper Dottie McSpadden recorded 14 saves for Wilson Central.
WCHS is scheduled to host Dickson County Saturday, Aug. 20 in a 6 p.m. match. The Lady Wildcats play at Smyrna Tuesday the 23rd at 5 p.m.

VOLLEYBALL - Watertown posts win
WATERTOWN -- Watertown High's volleyball team improved to 3-1 overall / 1-1 in District 8-A by sweeping Trousdale County 25-14; 25-14 & 25-11 Thursday.
Dakayla Cherry paced the Lady Tigers with five kills, a block and an assist.
Alaina Johnson added five kills, a block and a dig while Aylssa Bond added five service aces.
Emily Woodson had 10 digs and Brenna Luttrell added seven.
Watertown will be back in action Monday, Aug. 22 at home v. Middle Tennessee Christian School.

VOLLEYBALL -- WCHS sweeps PJP2
HENDERSONVILLE -- Wilson Central swept Pope John Paul II Thursday 25-5; 25-15 & 25-15.
Emilee McDonald led the Lady Wildcats with 14 assists and five kills.
Shelby Coombes and Loren Schmitt each had five service aces.
Wilson Central will play at District 9-AAA rival Station Camp Tuesday, Aug. 23 in a 6 p.m. match.

VOLLEYBALL -- FCS falls at Zion
COLUMBIA -- Friendship Christian's volleyball team dropped a narrow 3-2 decision at Zion Christian Academy Thursday.
Game scores: 25-16, 22-25, 25-19, 19-25 and 13-15.
Hitter Alycia Long paced the Lady Commanders with 11 kills and three blocks.
Madison Bryant finished with 14 assists, four digs and a kill while Cameron Burton had 17 assists, four digs, an ace and a kill.
Bayley West added seven kills and six digs; Kendall Tipton had eight kills and seven digs while Libby Nave had 18 digs and two aces.
FCS is scheduled to play in the Bulldog Bash Friday, Aug. 19 and Saturday, Aug. 20 at the Franklin Field House.
