Thursday's prep softball

Lebanon freshman Sarah Jones went 3-for-4 and scored two runs while Kearson Yahola was 2-for-4 with three RBI. Bethany Anderson and Megan Brown each had two hits for the winners. All told, the Lady Devils pounded out 13 hits against Mt. Juliet's Lauren Woodard.

Anderson started for LHS and got the decision, working four innings and allowing just one earned run. She was relieved by Beth Swartwout who allowed two hits over three innings.

The Lady Bears fell to 17-10 overall, 4-3 in District 9AAA with the loss and will be back in action this weekend in Cookeville's Duff Tournament -- as will Lebanon.

SCHEDULE UPDATE -- Mt. Juliet's rained-out District 9AAA game at Wilson Central will be played Wednesday, April 24 at 5 p.m.

Watertown pounds RBS -- RED BOILING SPRINGS -- Watertown High banged out 11 hits in Thursday's 11-1 victory at Red Boiling Springs.

McKay Hill had three hits and three RBI for the winners while Tiffany Tomlinson and Allison Burton each added two hits. Tomlinson and Hannah Zachary combined for a five-inning one-hitter.

The Tigerettes will be playing this weekend in a tournament in Dickson.

WCHS thumps Gallatin --GALLATIN -- Lauren Stavinoga had four hits and drove in two runs to lead Wilson Central over District 9AAA rival Gallatin 12-0 Thursday.

All told, the Lady Wildcats piled up 19 hits in the win, improving to 16-12 overall / 3-2 in District 9AAA.

Hannah Bodenhorn (9-7) went the full seven inning, allowing just three hits and striking out nine.

Softball action from earlier in the week:

CPA 13, MJ Christian 2 --NASHVILLE -- Christ Presybyterian Academy took advantage of 11 walks and six errors in Wednesday's 13-2 victory over Mt. Juliet Christian Academy. The Lady Saints fell to 5-10 with the loss. Abby Lusk, Audrey Hess and Abi Hildabrand each had a hit for MJCA.

Lebanon 7, Station Camp 0 --GALLATIN -- Lebanon struck for four runs in the top of the third and rolled on to a 7-0 win Tuesday at District 9AAA rival Station Camp. LHS starter Beth Swartwout went the distance, scattering seven hits and striking out six for the decision.

Megan Brown paced Lebanon at the plate, going 3-for-4 with singles in the third, fifth and sixth innings, driving in a run and scoring twice. The Lady Devils increased their lead with runs in the sixth as Hannah Simmons rapped an RBI triple. Brown then singled, plating Simmons.

Beech 7, Wilson Central 3 --SHACKLE ISLAND -- Beech sandwiched single scores in the first and third innings around a three-run third in Tuesday night's 7-3 win over Wilson Central. Wilson Central closed the gap with single runs in the fourth and fifth, only to see the Lady Bucs push across two more score in the bottom of the fifth.

Hannah Bodenhorn (8-7) started and took the loss for the Lady Wildcats, scattering eight hits. Central was led offensively by Morgan Powell and Rachel Tichenor, each with two hits. Allie Bennett, Lauren Stavinoga, Brittany Wiseman each had hits while Katie Eakes slugged her first home run of the season.
