3rd annual Watertown Warrior Run --
The third annual Watertown Warrior Run will be held Saturday, July 25 and athletes from Watertown High are lending a helping hand. The Watertown Warrior Run is a certified 5K with a one-mile fun run for kids age 15 and under. Proceeds from both races are slated to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.

Back in the spring, Watertown High's baseball team donated an outfield sign to Warrior Run as a way to help spread the word about the effort.

"The sign was our way of helping get the word out," said Purple Tiger Baseball Coach E.J. Wood.

"We'll also have our players working as race day volunteers -- the ones who won't be running in the actual race. We're participated in several community service projects through the years, but the Watertown Warrior Run tops the list. This is a great way to honor those who have served our country and hopefully teach our kids who play 'America's Game' that we do so because of the ones who have fought for our freedom."

Scores of Watertown High athletes have signed up to participate in the event.

Advance registration is $25 for the 5K; $40 day of the race. Advance registration for the fun run is $12; $18 day of the race.
