Tigers headed to Region 4-A tourney

LEBANON -- Watertown reached the finals of the District 8-A tournament, falling to Goodpasture 13-0 in five innings Wednesday at Friendship Christian School.
Despite the loss, the Purple Tigers (18-14) will move on to the Region 4-A Tournement Monday, playing in Gainesboro against District 7-A champ Jackson County High. The Blue Devils knocked off Pickett County 4-3 Monday, May 5.
It was Wednesday afternoon’s 10-9 victory over Trousdale County in the finals of the loser’s bracket that secured a region berth for Watertown -- the first for the program in 2002.
Trailing 2-0, the Tigers took a 3-2 lead, then stretched the margin to 7-3 before WHS mounted a final push.
Cameron Jennings and three hits and two RBI to pace Watertown’s 13-hit attack.
