Tim Bryant to head local FCA

Former Mt. Juliet High football standout and ordained minister Tim Bryant will become the new full-time director of the Wilson County Chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes sometime next month.

Bryant has tendered his notice at Nashville's Montgomery Bell Academy where he has worked since 2007 in admissions, counseling and coaching middle school football.

Bryant, 52, signed with Vanderbilt University out of Mt. Juliet and finished his college football career at the University of Southern Mississippi where he starred as a linebacker.

He played professionally in the CFL (Toronto 85-86) and the NFL (Minnesota 87) and is a graduate of Nashville's Trevecca College.

Bryant and his wife Angie are the parents of daughters Amilya and April. A licensed minister for past 12 years, he has served as the pastor of Grace Fellowship Ministries for the past seven years.

Plans are being made for a fundraising banquet Tuesday, Nov. 18 at Lebanon's Immanuel Baptist Church featuring former NFL player Chris Sanders.

Tables will seat eight. All proceeds will go toward the development of the local FCA program.
