Tomatoes of all varieties - big, ugly or small - will be welcome at Historic Lebanon's seventh annual Tomato Festival, set for Saturday, July 18 at the Lebanon Farmers Market.

The event, which will run from 8 until 10:30 a.m., highlights Lebanon and Wilson County farmers as well as their produce. Contests will be held for the largest, ugliest, smallest and most perfect tomato, and prizes will be awarded to first-place winners.

According to event organizers, Sally Palmer will return to the event with her delicious homemade fried pies. Always a hit, the pies are known to sell out very quickly. Meanwhile, the Faith Lutheran Church Bluegrass Band will provide entertainment.
