Mark Tomlinson handily won re-election to the Lebanon Special School District Board after receiving more than 70 percent of the vote.

He secured more than 2,000 votes to his challenger Ronald (Rip) McCarver's 841 votes.

"It's great, especially since it's my third time to run," Tomlinson said. "The first two were unopposed, so it feels good to win with some competition. I'd like to thank the people who helped me. It's an endless list of supporters."

He spoke on WANT-FM 98.9 Thursday night to Coleman Walker and Judge Barry Tatum.

"I think right now our school system is one of the best in the state," Tomlinson said. "We've got one of the best directors, and great teachers.

"We all work together good (members of the LSSD school board), and we always see eye-to-eye when it comes to the kids and what's best for them."
