Just days after locking horns with arch rival Wilson Central, the Mt. Juliet basketball teams will host Lebanon tonight in a 6:30 p.m. District 9-AAA doubleheader.

Also in District 9-AAA tonight, Wilson Central will entertain Hendersonville High and Watertown High is scheduled to host Trousdale County High in a 6 p.m. District 8-A twin bill.

Mt. Juliet Christian is on the road to play at The King's Academy this afternoon and at Knox Webb Saturday morning in a pair of Division II East-Middle 1-A games.

Friendship Christian will host St. Andrew's Sewanee tonight in another East-Middle 1-A doubleheader. Action tips at 6 p.m. at the Bay Family Sportsplex.

(girls) Goodpasture 73, Friendship 40
LEBANON -- Friendship Christian's Lady Commanders dropped to 4-9 on the season following a 73-40 loss to Goodpasture Thursday night at the Bay Family Sportsplex.

FCS was led by Taylor Patterson who sank five 3-pointers on the way to 20 points.

LEBANON -- Ninth grader Gregory Elliott scored 19 points and junior Colton Gaines added 11 in Friendship's 70-47 loss to Goodpasture Thursday night at the Bay Family Sportsplex.

The Commanders, now 0-2 on the season, trailed 30-11 after one period and 52-14 at intermission.

(boys) Wilson Central 64, Mt. Juliet 58
MT. JULIET -- Wilson Central pulled out a tough 64-58 road win at District 9-AAAA rival Mt. Juliet Tuesday night, improving to 14-4 overall and 4-1 in the district.

Cool at the free throw line, Jon Rosshirt knocked down 8-of-9 at the stripe in the second half and led the Wildcats with 18 points. Jacob Williams hit three 3-pointers and finished with 15 while Ben Palmer added 10 and Casey Brandon had eight. A.J. Franklin added seven second half points for the winners.

Mt. Juliet, now 10-8 overall, 3-3 in 9-AAA, was led by 20 points from Nolan Chowbay. Reagan Johnson chipped in with 14; Daniel Schroder had 13 and James Womack 11.

(girls) Mt. Juliet 45, Wilson Central 35
MT. JULIET --  The Lady Bears went on a 10-0 run to open the third quarter and went on to record a 45-35 home victory over Wilson Central Tuesday night. Raeyana DeGray paced the Lady Bears with 17 points while her sister Ronjanae added 12 as Mt. Juliet improved 14-1 overall / 6-0 in District 9-AAA.

Kendall Spray had 10 points and was the only Lady Wildcat in double figures. Wilson Central fell to 11-5 overall, 3-2 in District 9-AAA.

(girls) Lebanon 54, Portland 38
LEBANON -- Madison Sloan powered in 27 points as the Lebanon High girls defeated Portland 54-38 Tuesday night at Campbell Brandon Gym.

The Devilettes, who improved to 7-10 overall and 2-4 in District 9-AAA, also got 11 points from Kelsey Yarbrough and eight from Kendra Brown. LHS dominated on the glass as Yarbrough, Jameka Dowell and Sloan pulled in nine rebounds apiece.

With the loss, Portland slipped to 5-11 overall, 0-7 in District 9-AAA.

(boys) Lebanon 74, Portland 45
LEBANON -- Senior guard Eddie McDaniels swished five 3-pointers on the way to 21 points in Lebanon's 74-45 victory over Portland Tuesday at Campbell Brandon Gym.  The Blue Devils upped their record to 12-4 overall and 4-2 in District 9-AAA headed into Friday night's league game at Mt. Juliet High.

Corvell Huddleston added 15 points for LHS while DaShawn McMurry drilled three 3-pointers to finish with 11 points. K.K. garnett had eight, Mickell Taylor seven and Jamel Officer six.

Portland (3-16, 1-6) got 14 points from Jackson Cook in the loss.

(girls) Friendship 47, MJ Christian 29
MT. JULIET -- Eighth grader Ashlyn Pittman's 18 points led Friendship Christian's Lady Commanders to a 47-29 win at Mt. Juliet Christian Academy Tuesday night. Leading 18-16 at intermission, FCS pulled away by outscoring the Lady Saints 13-4 in the third period.

Abbey Hinton had nine points for Friendship (3-9 overall, 1-0 in the East-Middle District) while Hailey Pittman and Taylor Patterson each added eight points. MJ Christian (8-7, 0-1) was led by 10 points from Caroline Scott and eight from Meredith Orr.

(boys) MJ Christian 61, Friendship 42
MT. JULIET -- A 15-4 second quarter blitz helped lift Mt. Juliet Christian Academy to a 61-42 home win over Friendship Christian Tuesday night.

In a game that crawled along at a snail's pace as the teams combined to attempt 77 free throws, Zack Jones had 18 points and Newman Ward added 16 to lead the Saints.

Friendship Christian was led by Zach Blair with 13 points and Gregory Elliott with 11.

MJCA improved to 9-8 overall while the Commanders remained winless on the season at 0-11.
