TriStar Summit Medical Center in Hermitage welcomed a new CEO this month.
Brian Marger assumed the position on June 1 following former CEO Jeff Whitehorn's retirement on May 31.
"My focus is to ensure we provide world-class care the community we serve," Marger told The Wilson Post on Thursday. "It is extremely exciting (to be named CEO). We are fortunate to be in a growing community, and we are growing the services we offer."
Marger is originally from Dayton, Ohio. He moved to Middle Tennessee in 1996 to attend Vanderbilt University's Owen Graduate School of Management.
Prior to being named CEO of TriStar Summit, Marger was chief operating officer for TriStar Centennial.
"Being a hospital CEO has been a longtime aspiration for me," he said.
When he isn't working, Marger enjoys time with his family - including wife, Victoria, and daughters, Jordan, 15, and Lily, 12.
His favorite hobbies include running, reading and trying new restaurants.
He serves on the board of Alive Hospice, as well as Gilda's Club, which provides emotional and social support for cancer patients.
