FCS wins 7th straight --
LEBANON -- Friendship Christian's boys withstood a barrage of 3-pointers in a 64-51 victory over Mt. Juliet Christian Academy Tuesday evening at the Bay Family Sportsplex.
Saint guard Logan Anderson connected on seven 3-pointers for 21 points but the Commanders led most of the way -- stretching their winning streak to seven consecutive games and improving to 11-7 overall and 4-0 in the East-Middle District.
Zach Blair led FCS with 19 points, Joe Greenwood added 16 and Hanley Sobiesczyk chipped in with nine.
Caylor Bates had 11 points for MJCA while Tyler West had eight and Preston Sloan six.
The Saints, now 10-7 overall, will host The King's Academy Friday while FCS visits St. Andrew's-Sewanee.
Mt. Juliet 39, Wilson Central 26
MT. JULIET -- A tough, grind-it-out defensive game resulted in Mt. Juliet pulling out a 39-26 victory over Wilson Central Tuesday night at "The Cave".
The Golden Bears led 11-4 after one quarter and 16-14 at intermission -- improving to 13-7 on the season and 5-2 in District 9-AAA.
Wilson Central slid to 9-8 / 3-3 with the loss.
Issac Stephens and Jordan Lockridge each had eight points for Mt. Juliet while Joey Hayes connected on a pair of 3-pointers and had seven.
Cole Booth led Wilson Central with seven, Kene Aruh had five while Dawson Hamilton and Kito Arush each scored four points.
Wilson Central will host Gallatin Thursday, Jan. 20 in a makeup doubleheader.
Mt. Juliet is scheduled to play at Lebanon the same night.
Watertown 97, Merrol Hyde 66
HENDERSONVILLE -- Watertown's offense was clicking on all cylinders Tuesday night as the Purple Tigers ran away from District 8-A rival Merrol Hyde Magnet 97-66.
WHS senior guard Seth Price connected on five 3-pointers and finished with 31 points.
Austin Lasater hit three 3-pointers for his 17 points and Preston Tomlinson had 10.
Deonte Bratcher chipped in with nine points and Addison Clinton had seven as the Purple Tigers improved to 17-3 overall.
For the game, WHS shot 41-of-88 from the field (47 percent) while forcing 22 turnovers.
Watertown will be on the road Friday, Jan. 20 at Goodpasture.
Lebanon 59, Portland 26
PORTLAND -- Lebanon jumped out to a 17-2 lead and never slowed down in Tuesday's 59-26 victory at District 9-AAA rival Portland Tuesday night.
Senior Cameron Oliver scrambled for 13 points while junior post Eddie Jackson tallied 10 -- all in the first half.
Jeremiah Hastings sank a pair of 3-pointers for his eight points and sophomore forward Kameron Davis also had eight.
Coach Jim McDowell's Blue Devils improved to 12-6 overall and 4-2 in the district.
LHS is scheduled to host Mt. Juliet Friday, Jan. 20 at Campbell Brandon Gymnasium.
