University Medical Center’s AWAKE group will host an educational seminar on Monday, June 15 at 6 p.m. in the Cafeteria at UMC’s McFarland campus located at 500 Park Ave. in Lebanon.

Michael T. Baker, M.D., Cardiologist, will present “How Sleep Apnea Affects Your Heart.”

A.W.A.K.E., an acronym for “Alert, Well And Keeping Energetic,” is a health awareness group for people affected by sleep apnea. The network, founded in 1988, is an integral part of the American Sleep Apnea Association (ASAA) and since 1990; the two have been partners in assisting people with apnea, their families, and the healthcare community concerned with sleep apnea.

UMC’s event is free and family members and friends are welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served and door prizes will be awarded.

For more information, contact Janice Whitaker, A.W.A.K.E. coordinator, at 443-6804 or email janice.whitaker@hma.com.
