Use care in cutting Senior Center budget

  Email   Print

To the Editor:

Lebanon Senior Center is one place every resident in the city should be very proud of.

I want to thank the Lebanon City Council for their efforts to work with the Senior Center to not cut the budget any more than is absolutely necessary to balance the city budget.

Our Senior Center adds so much to our city with its outreach to seniors in so many ways. This is an example for the month of May 2009 of the people who attended:

1. Meals: Homebound, 902; In-House, 2,1762. Health Screening, 6533. Recreation, 2,6504. Physical Fitness, 1,9205. Educational Training 9046. Average Attendance Per Day, 259

Trips are provided at a reasonable rate so our seniors can take vacations to places they can afford at their own expense.

This is a place many seniors go to every day for social, physical and mental stability. Ours is the best in the nation. Please consider a tax deductible donation to your Center to keep it the best.
