Victim ID'd in Monday night wreck on 231-N

Lebanon Police released the identity of the man killed in an accident involving a semi-truck cab Monday night.

The victim was identified as Harold Dee Jones, 47, of 807 Rome Pike, Lebanon.

The accident occurred at about 9:30 p.m. on Hunters Point Pike at North Hartmann Drive. Officer Robert Bates, traffic crash reconstructionist with the Lebanon Police Department is heading up the investigation into the cause.

Police believe Jones was killed when he was unable to stop his 1984 Chevrolet pickup truck in time and struck the rear wheel of a Freightliner truck cab driven by Aldiva Angel of Crossville who was traveling northbound on Hunters Point Pike and had stopped for a traffic signal at North Hartmann Drive.

Jones was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have confirmed that he was not wearing a seat belt.
