VOLLEYBALL -- FCS heads to substate

Saturday at St. Georges
Friendship Christian's volleyball team will take a record of 38-12 into the DII-A substate 1 p.m. Saturday at St. George's in Collierville.
St. George's is the Number 2-seed in the West Region while FCS comes in as the No. 3-seed in the East-Middle.
Saturday's substate winner advances to the TSSAA state tournament next week in Murfreesboro.
The Lady Commanders earned a third place seeding in Tuesday's East-Middle Regional playoff at the Bay Family Sportsplex.
FCS dropped a 3-0 decision to Knox Webb in the regional semifinal by scores of 11-25, 19-25 & 10-25.
Libby Nave had 11 digs, Cameron Burton had eight assists while Kendall Tipton finished four kills and three aces.
Alycia Long knocked down two kills with three blocks; Bayley West had four kills and Morgan Vallett recorded two kills, two blocks and a dig.

CONSOLATION
Friendship 3, BGA 2
The Lady Commanders knocked off Battle Ground Academy 3-2 in Tuesday's consolation match.
Game scores: 25-14, 25-16, 24-26, 21-25 & 15-7.
Tipton led the attack with 16 kills and seven aces while Vallett chipped in with 12 kills and 14 digs.
West added nine kills and four digs; Long had five kills, three blocks and two digs and Burton dished out 25 assists.
Nave had 24 digs; Bryant had 18 assists and Nave recorded 24 digs.
ALL-REGION -- Libby Nave received All-Region Tournament honors.
