VOLLEYBALL: LHS blanks Wilson Central

Lebanon High's volleyball team improved to 14-6 on the season and 6-3 in District 9AAA following Thursday night's 3-0 home win over Wilson Central. Game scores: 25-12, 25-20 and 15-13.

Briana Clemmons paced the Lady Devils with 14 kills and nine digs while Nicole Painter added eight kills and two blocks. Erin Arnold served six service aces, Veronica White finished with 10 digs and Zia Hamilton handed out 20 assists.

Wilson Central's Delaney McCorkle had seven kills, five digs and an assist while Averi Usher had five digs and seven kills.

The Lady Devils return to action Monday, Sept. 22 at Mt. Juliet High. Varsity action is scheduled to start at 6 p.m.

Wilson Central (13-17 / 3-6) returns to District 9AAA play at Gallatin Monday, Sept. 22 and will host Mt. Juliet Sept 23.

FCS holds Friday tri-match
Friendship Christian's Lady Commanders will host a pair of East-Middle District 1-A opponents Friday afternoon at the Bay Family Sportsplex.

FCS (15-10 / 2-1 district) will take on Knoxville Webb at at 4 p.m. followed by a 5 p.m. match vs. The King's Academy.

Friendship is coming off a 3-1 win Thursday at University School of Nashville. Game scores: 25-19, 15-25, 25-16 and 25-22.

Morgan Vallett led the way with 11 kills, 33 digs and three digs while Savannah Robinson finished with 10 kills, two assists and a dig.
