Watertown 33, Monterey 6

WATERTOWN -- The Purple Tigers of Watertown High closed out the 2008 regular season Thursday with a 33-6 victory over Monterey at Robinson Stadium.

The entire first half was played on Monterey's side of the field as Watertown mounted a commanding 26-0 lead at intermission.

Watertown improved to 6-4 overall with the win while Monterey limped home 2-8 on the season.

Ethan Patterson and Blaze Eaton scored two touchdowns each for the Purple Tigers while Nick Lennox had a pair of quarterback sacks and blocked a Wildcat punt.

Jacob Anderson helped out with a pass interception and Chris Leh recovered a fumble.

Watertown will open play in the Class A playoffs Nov. 7 as they travel East to play the loser of Friday night's game between South Pittsburg and Chattanooga Grace.
