Watertown, FCS post wins

The Commanders had an easy time defeating Monterey 43-16 at Pirtle Field -- jumping out to a 28-0 first quarter lead.

Quarterback A.J. Long threw a pair of touchdown passes and Steven Hollis carried five times for 77 yards and a touchdown. The Commanders added a pair of defensive TD's as Hunter Watts carried back an interception return 50 yards for a score and Gage Bentley returned a fumble 46 yards to paydirt.

FCS improved 9-1 overall (7-1 in Region 4A) while Monterey slid to 5-5, 4-4.

Watertown 32, Jackson County 25WATERTOWN -- Things got too close for comfort in the fourth quarter, but Watertown broke a three-game losing streak with a 32-25 win over Jackson County Friday at Robinson Stadium.

The Purple Tigers were nursing a 32-12 lead, thenlet the Blue Devils back in the game by allowing a couple of late scores.

Watertown improved to 7-3 overall with the victory.

FRA 49, MJ Christian 7NASHVILLE -- Mt. Juliet Christian closed out the 2012 season with a 49-7 loss at Franklin Road Academy Friday night.

The loss dropped the Saints to 2-8 under first year head coach Jake Roberts.
