Watertown High to induct five
WATERTOWN -- A legendary coach and two outstanding athletes headline the inaugural induction class of the Watertown High Hall of Fame.

The late football and girls basketball coach Brownie Robinson will be inducted along with former football star Ricky Baker and 5-on-5 girls basketball standout Jill Gwaltney.

Rounding out the five-member class are ground-breaking Olivia Seay -- the first African-American educator at WHS and retired school secretary Virginia Ann Huddleston.

Coach Robinson spent 11 years as the Tiger head man and compiled a record of 72-37-5 (a .631 winning percentage), including back-to-back 10-1 seasons in 1970 and 1971

Baker was a two-sport star, playing football and basketball while Gwaltney is the all-time leading scorer in the five-on-five era of basketball with 1,625 career points.

The five will be recognized at a Saturday, Nov. 5 dinner and induction ceremony. Tickets are $25 per person and are on sale at the WHS main office.
