Watertown hosts Gordonsville Friday

Watertown was playing without the services of guard Josiah Smith, who was sidelined with a sprained shoulder suffered in the late stages of last weeks win at Friendship Christian.

Watertowns girls fell to 8-9 on the season following Tuesday nights 61-53 loss to Pickett County. The Tigerettes struggled at the charity stripe, going 5-of-17 (29 percent).

Kristin Vantrease connected on three 3-pointers and finished with 11 points. Bobbi Staats and Bay Cole each had 10 points.

Also on tap tonight in Wilson County; Station Camp visits Mt. Juliet High in a 6:30 p.m. District 9AAA doubleheader. The Lady Bears moved to 11-6 overall / 4-1 in the league following Tuesday nights 69-48 win over visiting Hendersonville. Ronjanae DeGray had 27 points and Sally McCabe 19 for Mt. Juliet in the win.

Coach Troy Allens Mt. Juliet boys slid to 8-8 overall and 3-2 in 9AAA following a 53-50 loss to Hendersonville Tuesday. Nolan Chowbay had 15 points and Hunter Gilbert 11 for the Bears.

Trousdale County visits Friendship Christian School in District 8A play. The Lady Commanders improved to 9-4 overall / 2-0 in the district after Tuesdays 51-37 win at Red Boiling Springs. Deja Jones had a double-double (20 points, 12 rebounds), as did Kaitlyn Teeter (11 points, 15 boards).

The FCS boys clamped down for a 41-19 win over the Bulldogs in Tuesdays nightcap. Allen Heaston had 15 and Anthony Williams 12 as the Commanders upped their overall record to 4-7, 1-1 in District 8A.

Lebanon Highs teams travel to Shackle Island for a 6:30 p.m. twinbill vs. Beech High School. Live radio coverage begins at 6:15 p.m. on WANT FM-98.9.

The Devilettes are coming off a 56-31 home win over Gallatin Tuesday. LHS, now 9-8 overall / 4-1 in 9AAA, got 15 from Abby Wright, 12 from Madison Sloan and 11 from Julia Fox.

In Tuesdays second game, Zimmer Hunn paced the Blue Devils with 19 points -- including a pair of 3-pointers.

Wilson Central visits Portland High tonight. The Lady Wildcats are coming off an 80-71 road win over Station Camp Tuesday. Hailey Averitt nailed six 3-pointers and finished with 25 points to lead WC -- now 7-8 overall, 3-2 in 9AAA.

Troy Bonds Wildcats herded up the Bison for a 78-44 victory. Ben Palmer and Jacob Williams each had 18 points as WCHS improved to 14-4 overall, 4-1 in the league.

Mt. Juliet Christian Academy will visit District 1A, Division II rival Donelson Christian Academy tonight. The Lady Saints stand 5-8 overall following a 44-29 loss to Davidson Academy Tuesday. Lynnze Ethridge had 16 and Lauren Wankel 10 for the Lady Saints.
