All-state in third TSSAA sport
Talk about a clean sweep.
Recent Watertown High graduate Seth Price has again been named All-State by the Tennessee Sports Writers Association -- this time for his baseball exploits.
A Lindsey Wilson College baseball signee, Price has completed a rare all-state trifecta having earned statewide honors for football and basketball earlier this past academic year.
In 2017 Price batted .427 and led the state of Tennessee (all classifications) with 23 doubles. He stole 30 bases in 31 attempts and drove in 34 runs.
As a junior in 2016, Price batted .476 with 17 walks, 43 steals in 44 attempts, 21 runs batted in and scored 34 runs. He led the team with 50 hits.
On the mound in 2017 Price went 4-2 with a 1.55 ERA. He struck out 51 hitters in 56 innings of work while walking 36.
He was one of three finalists for Class A Mr. Baseball as presented by the Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association.
Price was a semifinalist for the Tennessee Titans Class 2A Mr. Football. He led the Purple Tigers to a record of 10-2 and a second round berth in the playoffs. He threw for over 2,700 yards as a senior and 38 touchdowns -- both school records.
A shooting guard, Price scored over 2,000 points in his varsity career and averaged 20.8 points per game as a senior.
