Wilson Bank & Trust President Elmer Richerson was among six bankers recently inducted to Leaders in Banking Excellence by the Tennessee Bankers Association (TBA).
A plaque in Richerson's honor will be installed in the entrance hall at TBA's headquarters in Nashville. The 2016 inductees were among an elite group representing Tennessee bankers, past and present, who have excelled in the areas of banking, community service and civic involvement, according to a TBA spokesperson.
"I'm honored to have Elmer joining me on the wall, just as I've been honored to work beside him for the past 27 years," WB&T CEO Randall Clemons said. "It's a great privilege for a banker to earn this special recognition for a career achievement, and I can think of no one who's more deserving."
Richerson joined the bank in 1989. He began his banking career while in high school and, throughout his 46 years in the industry, he has served in every operational capacity as a banker. The civic and community service organizations through which he's served over the years include or have included Joseph's Storehouse, FCA, United Way, Living Sent Ministries, Rotary and Habitat for Humanity. He is also a founding member of West Haven Baptist Church in Lebanon.
