Mt. Juliet 6, Beech 0 -
SHACKLE ISLAND -- Mt. Juliet's Ethan Smith struck out 12 in five innings of work to lead the Golden Bears to a 6-0 win at Beech.
Smith allowed just one hit as MJHS improved to 9-2 overall / 3-0 in District 9-AAA.
Cade Hoppe went 2-for-3 with a double and drove in three runs.
Wilson Central 5, Hendersonville 3
HENDERSONVILLE -- Wilson Central struck for five runs in the top of the fifth and used three solid pitching efforts to hold off host Hendersonville 5-3 Wednesday night at Drakes Creek Park.
Ethan Shelton's bases clearing triple was the big blow as the Wildcats moved to 6-3 on the season.
In fact, the WCHS managed just two hits off Hendersonville pitching -- the other being a single by Dawson Hamilton.
Ryan Hill worked six innings to get the decision, striking out nine and scattering four hits.
Andrew Franklin and Aaron Hubbell pitched the seventh, with Hubbell earning the save.
LHS 10, Gallatin 4
LEBANON -- Junior Jonathan Presley went 4-for-4 and Dalton Squires added three hits as Lebanon downed Gallatin 10-4 Wednesday at Brent Foster Field.
Lefty Tristan Warden started and picked up the win, striking out nine in a five-inning stint.
"Tristan came out and set the tone for us," said LHS coach Eric Vetetoe.
"Usually when that happens the offense follows it up. Tonight we had a lot of extra base hits."
Leading 3-0, the Blue Devils exploded for five runs in the bottom of the fourth.
Freshman Luke Bradshaw drove in two runs for the winners.
Lebanon improved to 8-2 on the season / 1-1 in District 9-AAA.
FCS sweeps Ezell-Harding
ANTIOCH -- Friendship Christian School improved to 9-2-1 on the season following a Wednesday sweep over Ezell-Harding.
The Commanders won the opener 13-0 in five innings as Ethan Bult threw a neat two-hitter with four strikeouts and two walks.
Ethan Raymer and Jared Dickey each drove in three runs while Daniel Lucas and Braden Reece each had two RBI.
The nightcap was a little closer as FCS won 13-3, pounding out 13 hits and taking advantage of three Ezell-Harding errors.
Justin Seagraves hit a pair of doubles and drove in three runs while Matthew Swan had two hits, two RBI and scored twice.
Samuel Hollis went six innings for the win, scattering six hits with four strikeouts and a walk.
