BA tops Wilson Central
GLADEVILLE -- Nineteen turnovers proved to be too much to overcome Saturday afternoon as Brentwood Academy defeated Wilson Central 43-27 in the opening game of the Wilson County Showcase.
The loss snapped Wilson Central's 18-game winning streak to start the season while BA improved to 13-3.
The Lady Eagles led 12-4 early, but Coach John Wild's club tied the score at 17-all headed into halftime thanks to a 13-5 second quarter run.
Taylor Tucker and Addison Byrd paced WCHS with 10 points each while ninth grader Lindsay Freeman finished with eight.
Tennessee commitment Sydni Harvey of Brentwood Academy scored 18 of her game high 20 points in the second half.
Wilson Central is scheduled to be back in action tonight Tuesday, Jan. 17 at Mt. Juliet and Thursday, Jan. 19 at home against Gallatin.

Lebanon 54, Rossview 52
GLADEVILLE -- Aaryn Grace Lester knocked down a last-second jumper from the lane as Lebanon defeated Rossview 54-52 Saturday in the Wilson County Showcase.
Lester had 14 points to lead the Devilettes while Allissa Mulaski added 12 and Caleah Shannon fired in nine from the post.
Anne Marie Heidebreicht drilled a pair of 3-pointers for her six points.
Lebanon connected on 16-of-23 from the free throw line (69 percent) -- improving to 11-8 overall.
Friday evening LHS dropped a 54-52 decision at Beech High, falling to 1-4 in District 9-AAA.
Mulaski finished with 18 points and Shannon had 11 in the loss.

Beech 34, Mt. Juliet 33
SHACKLE ISLAND -- Mt. Juliet dropped a second straight District 9-AAA contest Saturday with a 34-33 loss at Beech.
The Lady Bears slipped to 11-5 on the season and 4-2 in the district with the loss.
Ninth grader Emma Palmer was the only Mt. Juliet player in double figures with 15 points.
Ryleigh Osbourne had six and Tondrea Davis five.

Station Camp 75, Mt. Juliet 67
MT. JULIET -- Down four at intermission, Station Camp went on a 27-14 third period run and knocked off Mt. Juliet 75-67 Friday night at "The Cave".
Ninth grader Emma Palmer collected a double-double for the Lady Bears, pouring in 32 points and pulling in 13 rebounds.
Julia Maki added 10 while freshmen Aaliyah Frazier and Nevaeh Majors had eight points apiece.

Friendship 53, Donelson Christian 36
LEBANON -- Friendship Christian ran out to an early 16-7 lead and kept the heat on in Friday's 53-36 victory over Donelson Christian Academy.
The Lady Commanders got double-digit outputs from three players -- Ashlyn Pittman with 19, Hailey Pittman with 11 and Autumn Groves with 10.
FCS moved to 6-10 on the season with the victory.
The Lady Commanders host Mt. Juliet Christian Academy Tuesday, Jan. 17.

Eagleville 49, Watertown 41
EAGLEVILLE -- Watertown slipped to 9-10 on the season following Saturday's 49-41 loss at Eagleville High.
Trailing 32-29 headed into the fourth quarter, Eagleville closed out the game on a 20-9 run.
Emma Edwards had nine points to lead Watertown.

Watertown 50, Trousdale Co. 38
WATERTOWN -- Maria Allocco led the way with 16 points as Watertown downed Trousdale County 50-38 Friday in a "Coming Home" contest.
The Tigerettes got 13 points from McKenna George, eight from Ashlea Dickens and six from Mya Huddleston.
WHS improved to 1-2 in District 8-A.

MJ Christian 71, Carroll Acd. 24
MT. JULIET -- Caitlyn Smith led four Mt. Juliet Christian Academy players in double figures in Friday's 71-24 victory over Carroll Academy.
MJCA pulled ahead 27-5 after one period and never looked back.
Carolin Hibbett and Amelia Lyons each added 12 points and Megan Blackwell 10 as the Lady Saints improved to 6-8 on the season.
Mt. Juliet Christian is scheduled to play at friendship Christian Tuesday, Jan., 17 and will host Knoxville Webb Saturday, Dec. 21.
