WHS & MJHS host playoff games

Four Wilson County football teams will be in action Friday night in the opening round of the TSSAA playoffs.

Class 2A Watertown (8-2) rode a 42-6 win over Westmoreland to earn a first round home game Nov. 6 vs. Chattanooga Tyner (7-3). Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Robinson Stadium.

In Class 6A, all three Wilson County schools have made the playoff field of 32 teams with only Mt. Juliet High (5-5) set to play at home.

The No. 4 seed in Region 3, 6A, the Golden Bears will take a 5-5 record into Friday night's game vs. 5-5 Collierville. Mt. Juliet is coming off a 49-21 loss to McGavock last week.

Wilson Central dropped a 28-7 loss to Nashville Overton Oct. 30, falling to 4-6 on the season. The Wildcats will travel to Cordova High in West Tennessee to take on the 8-2 Wolves in the first round.

Lebanon will take a 3-7 record on the road to play at Region 4, 6A runner-up White Station Nov. 6. The game will be played at Kirby High School, 4080 Kirby Parkway.

The Blue Devils were blanked by Franklin High 35-0 Oct. 30, while White Station (7-3) thumped Houston 49-0 to close out the regular season.
