WHS notches program's 1st win

One hurdle cleared, on to the next -
WATERTOWN - Fresh from the first victory in the brief history of the program, the Watertown High soccer team will be back in action Tuesday, Sept. 1 as the Lady Tigers travel to Murfreesboro to challenge Central Magnet School. Action kicks off at 5 p.m.

Four different Watertown players scored goals in Tuesday's (Aug. 25) 4-3 home win over Hendersonville-based Aaron Academy.

Coach J.D. Gutierrez got single goals from Shelby McKinley, Brennah Peet, Breanna Sweckard and Amanda Stanley.

Stanley and Ashlea Dickens each had assists. Keeper Noah Rand faced 14 shots and had 11 saves.

Mt. Juliet 8, Wilson Central 0
MT. JULIET -- Seven different players accounted for the scoring Tuesday evening as Mt. Juliet rolled over rival Wilson Central 8-0 in District 9-AAA soccer action.

Marileigh Mabry scored twice for the Lady Bears with single goals coming from Savannah Collins, Britt Elmore, Brooklyn Butler, Nataya Wade, Lauren Whitmire and Maya Bender.
