William Theron "Bill" Haley, age 76 of Fayetteville, TN went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Oct. 9, 2016.

He was a loving, kind and generous husband, father and grandfather. He was a also a devoted friend to all who knew him well.

Bill was born May 19, 1940 in Detroit, MI to John and Frances Agee Haley. He was a 1958 graduate of Watertown High School and received his Mechanical Engineering degree from Tennessee Tech in Cookeville in 1962. On June 8, 1962 he married the former Eleanor (Penny) Leffew in Cookeville. Bill was employed by the United States Army for 39 years as a civilian engineer at Redstone Arsenal until his retirement in 2001. He held numerous positions within the Product Assurance Division (PAD) of MICOM before finishing his career as Quality Engineering (QE) Division Chief for AMRDEC. He enjoyed working part-time as a defense contractor for an additional 9 years. He enjoyed traveling, boating and camping. He especially enjoyed spending time with his immediate and extended family.

Bill is survived by his son, Don Haley and his wife, Angie: his daughter, Karen Schumann and her husband, Robert; grandchildren, Madison Haley, Haley Schumann, Matthew Haley and John Schumann; his sister, Loretta Haley and her husband, Bob; nephews, Wayne Yelverton, Jason and Justin Haley.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Penny Haley in 2014.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Hazel Green Funeral Home at 13921 Hwy 231-431 North in Hazel Green, AL.

A memorial service will be held at 12 p.m. Friday at Hazel Green United Methodist Church with Reverend Al Geise officiating.

Memorial services will be held in Watertown at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016 at Hunter Funeral Home with visitation from 11 a.m. until service time.

Interment will be at Hearn Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Manna House of Huntsville, 2110 Memorial Parkway SW, Huntsville, AL 35801.
