Special Olympics social planned
Special Olympics of Wilson County is hosting a welcome back social for any athletes interested in participating in basketball, bocce or swimming. Anyone willing to help with Special Olympics please join the fun too. The social will be held 2-4 p.m. Sunday, July 27 at Don Fox Park. Athletes should bring snacks to share.

Wilson United signups
Wilson United Soccer is now accepting online signups for several fall leagues at wilsonunitedsoccer.org. In person signups will be held 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Saturday, July 26 at the Lebanon Breakfast Rotary Complex and at Dick's Sporting Goods in Mt. Juliet between 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

LGSA fall softball
Lebanon Girls Softball Association is taking registrations for the Fall 2014 season. Registration is now available online at lebanongirlssoftball.com and will continue through July 23. Registration fee is $30 per player. For more information call Wayne Oakley 615-305-4590.

Woody Hunt truck fund
Friends and former players of Cumberland's Woody Hunt have purchased a 2013 Ford F-150 pickup truck for the Hall of Fame baseball coach in recognition of his third NAIA championship and over three decades of service to the community at large. Once word of the effort got out, others in the community have asked to take part with financial contributions. Those wishing to donate to the Woody Hunt Appreciation Fund may do so at any branch of Wilson Bank & Trust.

Local Jr. / Sr. pro football
Registration for the Lebanon Recreation Department's 2014 season of Junior / Senior Pro Football in now underway.  The league is for athletes ages six through 11 year old. Players must be 6 on or before Aug. 1, 2014 and not 12 on or before Aug. 1, 2014. Players will be drafted in a blind draw and broken up into teams in their age divisions: Pee Wee (6 and 7), Junior (8 and 9) and Senior (10 and 11). Practices will not begin until the first of August and games will not start until after Labor Day in September. The nonrefundable registration fee is $40. HP two-man scramble
Hunters Point Golf Course will host its annual 2-Man Scramble tournament Aug. 2 & 3. Entry fee is $200 per team and includes green fees for practice round and two tournament rounds. Shotgun starts commence at 8 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Cash payouts are planned for four flights. Wilson Central golf tourney
The 10th annual Wilson Central Golf Scramble will be held Thursday, July 31 at Pine Creek Golf Course. Proceeds will benefit the Wildcat golf team with a 1:30 p.m. shotgun start planned. Entry fee is $65 for individuals or $260 per four-member team. Lunch and snacks will be provided with prizes at the end of the day. Call 477-3433 to enter a team.

CU football holds golf tourney
Cumberland football will host a golf fund-raiser Friday, August 1 at Pine Creek Golf Club in Mt. Juliet. A shotgun start is planned for 2 p.m. Registration and driving range opens at 12:30 p.m. for the event, with lunch provided at that time. Cost is $125 per person and includes goodie bags, on-course contests and prizes and awards. Sponsorships are available starting at $200. Travel football, cheer signups
Online registration is presently being held for the fall 2014 season of the Lebanon Youth Football and Cheer league. Spots remain for boys and girls in ages 5-12. Playing as the Lebanon Blue Devils, these teams will host four home games and play four on the road in neighboring communities.
