Witness sought in Aug. 25 fatal hit & run

 The remains of 43 year-old Harold James Frelix Jr., 43, of Antioch, were discovered on I-40 near mile marker 227 eastbound on the morning of Aug. 25. Frelix was later positively identified through fingerprint analysis. Frelix was a 1985 graduate of Antioch High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. 

Services for Frelix were held Aug. 31 at Priest Lake Community Baptist Church in Antioch.

At approximately 5:42 a.m., Aug. 25, Mt. Juliet Police responded to two crashes on I-40 eastbound in which vehicles ran off the interstate to avoid the remains of what the motorists thought was a deer. The

Mt. Juliet Police Department investigated those crashes. At the request of Mt. Juliet Police, THP is investigating the circumstances surrounding the initial fatality which is still being classified as a possible hit and run.  Investigators believe the incident may have occurred sometime between the early morning hours of 3:30 a.m. and 5:15 a.m., Wednesday.  

The THP is hoping someone may have witnessed the incident or might be able to provide information helpful to the investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact the THP at 741-2060.
