WWII veteran Perner services Friday

Retired World War II veteran and longtime Lebanon resident Louis "Lou" Perner died Monday, March 5 at the age of 94.

Mr. Perner worked for some 20 years with the United States Postal Service in Lebanon and upon retirement for another decade with the City of Lebanon.

He served with the U.S. Army in the European Theatre with the 13th Infantry. He also served in the Tennessee National Guard as a Master Sergeant with Company E, 173rd Armored Calvary Regiment.

Mr. Perner and his wife Frances also worked as photographers and owned "The Hobby Shop" at Castle Heights and "Quality Pets and Hobbies."

The family will receive friends between the hours of 4-8 p.m. Friday, March 9 at the Partlow Funeral Chapel.

Burial with military honors will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 10 at the Cedar Grove Cemetery.
